What did I spend my weekend doing?

Well, I was supposed to travel to North Carolina for my very best friend’s baby shower - for which the baby arrived 9 weeks early!  My best friend since 7th grade, Pam, gave birth to her first child on December 27.  Sweet baby Mollie was only 3 lbs, 7 ou!  She was able to go home a week ago.  And the baby shower planned for months now (long before we knew Mollie would make a very early entrance into our world) occurred this weekend.  Pam didn’t know I was coming and I was supposed to be her big surprise.

HOWEVER, as life goes, I’ve been sick since January 15.  The DR thinks it may be bronchitis…who knows.  But it just wasn’t a good idea for me to risk the nearly non-existent immune system of a preemie.  So with much sadness, I could not attend.

I decided to drown my sorrows in a weekend of scrapbooking!  And of course, I had to make a first-year scrapbook for baby Mollie.  Even though they just retired (ARGH!), I have always LOVED the Stampin’ Up! Days to Remember 12×12 calendars.  I have used them for my boys since they were born.  So, that combined with an also retired (& most adorable!) Simply Scrappin’ Kit, “Special Delivery - Girl” - Mollie’s first scrapbook was born.

It was delivered to Pam in North Carolina just today and she called me all emotional and so excited to receive her gift.  My heart is so full of joy!  Pammyla, welcome to Mommy-hood!  It’s a most wonderful journey.  Record your thoughts in your scrapbook often and highlight each month’s pictures.  It won’t be long before you’ll be looking back at this book, wishing your baby was a little baby yet again.  Mollie, your Aunt Beckie loves you so & cannot WAIT to meet you.  Welcome sweet, precious girl - may God’s smile and love always shine upon your path.  I love you both!

Paper-crafters - enjoy the layout ideas!
